We have all heard about “operating lean” with regard to large companies.  But, what could it mean for small and mid-sized businesses?  Jack Kahler, an expert in lean operations, will discuss what benefits small and mid-sized companies might derive from using Lean and Six Sigma technologies.

Businesses in all industries (from manufacturing and distribution to service and finance) are discovering that Lean Operations can dramatically improve profits by eliminating wasted time and cost.  Jack will discuss how various Lean and Six Sigma techniques can transform operations and how you should approach such a program to achieve maximum results.  He will draw from actual projects he has designed and implemented for companies in various industries including manufacturing, distribution, retailing, insurance, energy,  transportation and logistics.

Jack is President of Avocus Group LLC, a consulting firm specializing in operations and supply chain management solutions.  He has over twenty years’ experience leading operations strategy, supply chain and performance improvement  initiatives.  Prior to joining Avocus, Jack held senior positions at Braun Consulting, Ernst & Young, and Price Waterhouse.  He has his Industrial Engineering degree from Northeastern University and an MBA from Boston University.
